Antivirus software

    im looking for a couple of amazing FREE antivirus softwares that can possibly make my computer run faster. my subscription is running low on norton. i already have "cleaner"and "set nod4"... Oh! and a link to the download would be nice.

    avg or avast .. or be really intelligent and try clamwin .. google em all.. they are free.

    if you just want a simple easy dont-really-understand-but-need-antivirus approach, then avg is probably the go..

    but if your really looking to maximize your pc's performance, then you want an on-demand scanner rather than a resident one. Any resident virus scanner will constantly consume some system resources. an on-demand scanner will only do so whilst it is scanning.

    The free version of Malware Bytes Anti-Malware does not contain the resident module, only the on-demand scanner. it comes highly recommended

    ive had good luck with avira.easy on system resources and easy to use.spyware blaster for spyware.

    i use avg free coupled with malwarebytes. have 0 problems.

    Have used Avast for a long time now, not had a problem.
