    Hey guyz...

Well, seeing as the April 2010 deadline for Lord Meddlesome's new Law is fast approaching, I (as a UK citizen) have questions that need answering (and pretty quickly!!!) and I was hoping you guyz could help.

My first query is this... Exactly how do they detect the downloading of copyrighted material in the first place? Is it purely by Filename or is it by far more intrusive means? If it is Filename, then it occurs to me that a system to encode or randomly generate a different Filename at the download stage would certainly confuse and seriously hinder the detection process, thus making it hard (and very expensive!!) to find so called "Pirates"... If this is automatically implemented on a P2P Torrent downloader like say "uTorrent" at the point of download, it would certainly make detection MUCH harder...

Perhaps I am being overly naive, but with the new Law only two months away, and the potential of the Three Strike Policy spreading to other Countries besides France and the UK (the USA has already been mentioned) I think it needs to be addressed....NOW!!!!

I have been downloading for many years and have seen the P2P arena change in subtle ways to combat the greedy Corporate Media Groups. I hope it can adjust to this latest, most serious attack... I'd hate to have to give up now... Ultimately, I think the ISP will suffer most if no solution can be found. I myself pay £15 a month for Unlimited 20mb Download, but will change to the cheaper £5 a month ISP if a solution cannot be found... that's £120 a year for just one user - imagine if every Power User does that!!!! And statistically, most Power Users buy more "Legal" Software, Music & Video goods than normal people (I guess it's our Collecting & Archiving natures!!) That will stop for me out of pure bloody minded protest!!!

Three Strikes could be a serious threat to our Internet freedom (and the Net is the only free place left!!!) and it seems to be spreading. we need a solution...NOW

    THANKYOU....

write to your (labour) mp and threaten them with your vote in the upcoming election.. we did last year and we have been doing again this year.

This is an undemocratic law proposed by an unelected person who has taken a blatant backhander to put forward something which parliament has already thrown out as being a breach of "due process" and the very few "rights" we have left..

    get writing.
