I'm attempting to softmod my fat ps2 PAL console and run games off an HDD since it's laser is on the way out.

I just ordered a network adaptor, Action Replay Max disc and a new memory card to put the exploit/s on and freemcboot once it's all running.

For the past 5 hours, i've been trying to get an exploit to copy to my memory card. No matter what I do or what tutorials I follow, I cannot for the life of me get it to unpack to the memory card, nor can I figure out why.

The SLES thing i'm using is the one for FF8 PAL (SLES_020.82), because i've read that it is fine to use in the TITLE.DB for the exploit.

The programs i've been using to make/edit the exploits are : IDGET, TitleMan FrontEnd, PS2 Save Builder.

I've tried formatting my memorycard in fat and fat32, sometimes it picks up the exploit, but refuses to unpack it to the memorycard in slot 1, i've tried formatting the memorycard, deleting it's system config and I'm sick of following tutorials that lead me nowhere.

I've read something about using Independant Compiler, but whenever I find a link which explains how to use it, it seems to be a dead link or not tell me anything at all.

Whoever is reading this, if you could shed ANY light on this situation at all, even if you think you are wrong, please reply and let me know. I'm willing to waste another 5 hours of trying crap over buying a new PS2 :P.

Thank You - Apsac

This is one of the best tutorials for using Armax to get the PS1 exploit working

http://exploitstation.com/articles/armax...ExploitUSB.html

If you don't want too have to keep using a PS1 disc to launch uLe everytime, you can further look at this tutorial to install fmcb 1.8 to your memory card

You would then be able to launch applications right from your Sony Browser - link

It also recommended to read the 'User guide to fmcb 1.8 also
