So, from what I've been told, BIN files mean that the game is a cd game, while ISO means it's a dvd game. In any case, I don't have any CDr's laying around, so I thought I'd be clever and change my BIN files into ISO's, so I could play them on my PS2. Well, it didn't work (some of you veterans are probably thinking "DUH!!!").

So, my first question is, do I absolutely need to burn these games onto cdr's to run them on my PS2, or can I play them from dvdr's?

My brain is a little fried so I can't remember my other question, but I'll ask it when I remember.

Ok, so my second question was, am I best off keeping these files as BINs when I go to play them on my PS2, or will they play just as good (or better) if I convert them to ISO?

There are lots of different names and formats, they all do the same thing, and most of the formats can be CD, DVD, or even BluRay.

So long as they are in a format that works with the software you are using, just leave them that way...no point in converting them.

I know you can mod DVD games, remove padding and videos, and place them onto CDR...there are tools to help you do it over at sksapps.com, you can probably use the same process in reverse to achieve your goal.
