Sumo Lite HELP!!

hi guys, i have a modded ps2.
2days ago i opened it up to see what mod chip i have, its a Sumo Lite mod chip.
the problem is . it doesnt read ps1 games :(
it reads ps2 games without any prob, it boots dvds too by triple reset.
but no luck for ps1 games.
any help pls ? some button combination of this chip to boot ps1 games ?
does it have a menu ?
any help will be apriciated i really wish to play ps1 games on ps2.
