I have a chipped box running xbmc which is where I store all of my music and videos. All I have is a laptop with a 260 gb hdd whereas my xbox is equipped with a 750 gb hdd. I want to store all of my media on my xbox but I wanted to know if there was any way for itunes to draw through my server and read the media on my xbox. There are countless threads and documents about xbmc running your itunes playlist, but I have yet to find one explaining if your itunes can use the content from your xbox. I have ran around here and other forums, I have googled, I have searched periodically for quite some time now and have no dice still. I also can't seem to figure out why I cant run scripts or connect to the internet through my router with my box, I know there is a lot of stuff out there to help me with that so it's kind of on the back burner but if someone wants to throw me a bone on that note it would be greatly appreciated.

I can ftp just fine, and if i need to switch to dhcp i can do that, but i have seen people point to either direction depending on who it is. Im no expert, but ive been pokin around with this thing for 4 or 5 years so i know enough to relate.

I have since updated my xbmc to the latest t3ch build as i have heard one of the problems with scripts could be an outdated build. With the xbmc upgrade i can now see a lot of the info published through scripts but i can't watch any streaming video (itunes, cnn, flickr...) I can listen to shoutcast and itunes radio just fine and can pull some info through the video servers like the name of all the featured media but it gives me an error every time i try to watch a clip. I went to dhcp but i cant work out the rest of the bugs.
Never heard of the xbox being used this way, i'm sure it's possible but i doubt many people have tried it. Glad you figured out you had to have dhcp enabled to get a valid ip address with internet connectivity. It's just one of those things you need to setup. You should be able to run your scrips with dhcp enabled.
You could just add a library for your xbox (example) Ftp://xbox:xbox@192.168.0.100/F:/Music
Everytime it would try to access the library it would transmit the user and password to be allowed access. Well anyway it's at least worth a try.
