Is it possible to access the menu screen of a Digivox XL (almost brand new) that won't boot up. It hangs part way through the booting process.

ok so what you done was load the wrong software to your box that is all easy fix
first you need to reflash the box now this is all down to timing on doing it so what you do is load the file im going to give you at the bottom of this post.
Right loading the file turn the box off at the back with the null modem cable connected to the box get the loader and the file read so all you have to do is press download on it as i say this is a timing issue so once you have the file on the loader read to put on the box switch the box on at the back as soon as you see the first - on the display on the box hit download on the loader if you miss it go back and start again when you see the file going across the loader you will know its working just let it finish all the way to the end even when you see 100% you will get a pop up to say its finished
as i say above this is a timing issue you could get it first time or tenth time just keep trying.

I have folowed the procedure using the dowloader and the bin file appeared to load OK but the box still only boots to the same position (CHdL). I'm am loading it as an APP, do I need to have any other files or just the Firmware and do I need a specific version to boot it up.
Sorry to be a pain but I am getting somewhere but just not to the final startup.

are you sure its a digivox xl box you have and not a digivox T box ??check what it says on the box also is it possible that it could be the digivox xl usb is there a usb port on the back of the box ?

ok lets try another file and see will this work this file will bring it back to the way you got it use the loader same way as before with this file
