anybody else looking for info or for links guys let me know. i said in a previous post on this thread of the importance of checking your laptop and tv connections before buying any cables, some televisions even tho they may be new wont have vga or svideo connections , they will only have hdmi and so the only way to connect up your laptop to your tv in that case is if your laptop also has a hdmi output(this will give you audio and video in one cable). if your laptop has no hdmi output you can try somewhere like maplins for an adaptor like a hdmi to vga adaptor. if planning to buy a new tv i would check the box for a list of the tvs connections or look behind the display model on the shelf(thats what i did)and i made sure i got as many connection options as possible. remember also that vga or svideo cables only provide video you will also need to buy a cable for audio, you can use a twin phono to jack cable(put the twin phono end into the phono audio in sockets on your tv and the jack end into the earphone socket on your laptop. you can also get a jack to jack cable for audio, if your going to use svideo cable you will need to edit graphics option on your laptop( to tell the laptop that it has now got a second screen) the laptop will then display on your tv. i hope this answers a few questions guys.

sent those pms to cyrex78 and cnewton, and the good links posted by mickah do work but you will have to type them in to google and start them by typing http://www.and then the link ,they should work now.its just that they dont work on this thread as the first bit(http://www )was left out by mickah as it is a forum rule. i hope you guys enjoy the all the links and feel free to ask if you have any questions.
