Sorry to break it to you guys but the pilot rollout of nagra 3 cards starts on Monday 26th in Yorks. Take it from me, we were briefed about it today at Virgin faults management centre. Lets just hope they extend the postal strike!
i like it too,but it it draws true.new cards are beeing issued in the uk,they will have to trial the new card as per eire to see about any problems with older boxes and encryption ect. with the n3 new card, and if there is little disruption with the new n3 card channels will then start to disappear to n3. maybe by christmas or before.
Same bull$hit posted over the net and by new account holders with only one post ... how bizzarre ..! Perhaps these numpties should do a bit of research first ... Linky

He said the roll out starts today. They aren't going to start cutting off channels until everyone has been sent their new cards.
i can tell ya the cards are being sent out, the roll out starts from today, not the change of encryption, I have seen pics of the cards which were recd in Leeds by some punters, now if its like ireland, it will be a number of months and then they will cut over once every customer has their cards, same as it happened here Nagra 3 and Christmas, ya know both are coming. Not my work, V88g8n plans Yorkshire smart card swap Monday, October 26 2009, 17:15 GMT By Andrew Laughlin, Technology Reporter V88g8n plans Yorkshire smart card swap V88g8n Media has confirmed plans to start sending out new smart cards to its cable TV customers in parts of Yorkshire. Letters have been sent out today by the firm to V88g8n Media households in Leeds, Bradford, Harrogate and York informing them about planned upgrades to their service. Over the next few weeks, these customers will receive new smart cards which must be installed in their set top boxes to receive the latest updates on the TV platform. Last week, V88g8n launched a short instructional video about how to change smart cards, which led to rumours of a national card swap. However, the exchange is purely localised to parts of Yorkshire. V88g8n Media executive director of customer service Mark Davidson said: "All of our customers in these areas should soon receive their new TV smart cards, as well as straightforward step-by-step instructions on what they need to do. It's as simple as replacing their existing card with a new one. "What this means though is that we can begin to bring even more fantastic content and different ways of experiencing it to our customers. We are uniquely well positioned to shape the way in which we watch TV and we want our customers to join us as we develop the TV of tomorrow." The cable operator also claimed that the current disruption to Royal Mail postal service will not impact on the smart card delivery process.
Now ... before anyone jumps to any conclusions, there is NO mention of nagra 3 or your dreambox/kv or whatever box suddenly turning into a psycho killing machine overnight etc etc Some places are saying it's for IPTV (a reasonable assumption judging by the various places quoting same) where as others are jumping up and down claiming "nagra 3, nagra 3" and running around like headless chickens. If it is nagra 3 then fair enough, it's been one hell of a fun kick-a$$ ride duelling with VM and their key rolling and our firmware upgrades to beat such. Lets just sit back, take a chill pill and see what happens over the next few weeks. More information will no doubt come to light.
they are rolling out IPTV in cornwall direction as a trial and test, but have seen the pics of the cards and they are deffo N3 cards, same as the UPCEEE cards that were rolled out in Ire, it will be a number of months before anything does change, same I would reckon as what happened here, cards will be sent and re-sent then click, perhaps just premium onto n3 and other chans onto N2 or they may go the full monty from the off, but it will be interesting to see how long it will take and at what speed it will be implemented.
Sorry people been away for a few days thats why I haven't replied before. Perhaps these numpties with multiple posts should get their facts straight before trying to take the p*ss. First of all it is true that cards are being tried in Yorkshire first, but were only sent on Monday so services wouldn't start going off on Monday, but mark my words they will next week. Secondly I don't know what the weather is like in Delhi because the Albert Dock isn't there is it, if it is and that's where I go every day, my car's edited by ddp quick. Get your facts straight before you try and be funny you edited by ddp.
