Right Darth, It takes maybe 2 minutes for me to check the download section and file dates. If the fix was out it would be there. No need to post useless junk about when is it coming. They made it clear that not much info would be released until the bin was finished. Then If you post about others wasting bandwidth, someone tells you that you are doing the same thing. I'm beginning to think its better not to post at all on some of those site. Get the file you need and get off.

exactly. even though i'm on many FTA forums, you'll not find one single post by me. i solve any problems by reading the existing threads, and i get the files i need, no need to discuss it. i saw your post on the other thread, dont count fta out so quickly man, you know as well as i do they'll always find a way. as long as humans are involved in the encryption process, eventually good things trickle down our way :)

I haven't given up on FTA yet. I won't give it the 10 count until someone like Blacklist comes out and actually says it can't be done. My way of looking at it is that the ROM102 & 103 are working so its still possible. I use to dabble in the HU cards years ago with DTV so if all else fails I may try the 102 or 103 card fix. I still haven't given up on Blacklist.

yeah i'd want to hear it from him or i'd never believe it. i got like 2 boxes of old H and Hu stuff, man i'd sure hate to have to dig that crap out but i will if thats what it takes.

hi My Gf's parents got some coolsat 5000 boxes like a month ago. I read all the posts, and it seems like a fix needs to be implemeted before the channels will come back. When the box was "working" we ddint really get all the channels (only like 2 PPV and a few movie ones as well as the standard ones. ) Did we have a old .bin or key? Can someone tell me where I need to go to learn how to update my boxes even though the fix is not out. Thanks for all your help and advice. Patiently waiting it out like everyone else ^_^

It depends on when you got those boxes. About a month ago is when this present blackout started. We are still waiting on the fix. If you had some movie and PPV stations coming in then your bin was OK. How many you receive depends on what sat you were aimed at. At this point you will have to wait for the new file and then go from there to see if you actually had a problem.

Sounds like if everything was working before blackout...I would say you probably have a single LNB and you are locked on sat 119. That sat only has a few PPV's. Sat 110 has the rest. I would suggest you get a Dish 500 with the dual Head LNBF. That way you can pick 2 sat with 1 dish. Good luck!

i need to move forward with technology sooner or later, i still have my single LNB wit ha second single LNB duct taped to the side of it! hey it's ugly but it's been running that way for a long time and i get a perfect signal on both birds so i cant complain.

Actually, I have a dish from "DN" and It has the capacity to bring four signals into the house independantly to 4 tv's. I think it is a dual LMB as there are two nodes on the dish. My thoughts arfe this...My dish is still giving me some channels....is that the same for you guys as well, or no. Should I upload my info from my dish so that ppl get at least some TV while this blackout is going on, or is everyone ok?

Well Being that its a Coolsat 5000, And if you have the Dish you described with the dual head and you were getting just a few ppv's. Could be achance you dont have the Dish seetings in the setup menu . Make sure when you are on 110 its reading 110 and 119 is running 119. YOu may have to change lnb settings EX. if you are on 119 and it say 110 in the upper right hand corner of scrren that means its reading off of wrong lnb...so go into lnb setting and change it untill you get it to read 119. Mine is 110 lnb twin legacy 1 and 119 is twin legacy 2. But your might be different depending on which lnb you hooked your coaxle too. understand. Hope I explained that to were you can understand that. Its quite simple. But right now no ppv's just Locals 8000's - 9000's

None of the FTA sites have the fix yet because it doesn't exist yet. Join this site I link to below and keep checking the Coolsat sections.

ROM 102 card.....It will be a Yellow orginal Dish Network Card. But I wouldn't worry about that ...jsut wait for cardless fix...its near...

While the card fix works on some units, the legal issue involved seems to be a big worry for those into this hobby a long time. Most posts I have read on this state to STAY AWAY FROM ANY CARD SHARING FIXES. Some are even allowing the receivers to link with a server on line. You can guess how easy that would be to trace someone down If DN really wanted to. There are many ways to try to hide your IP but if DN really wants your information they will get it with that system.

That's correct Jerry!!! Everything you said. I would advise anyone reading this thread.....dont buy anything ....dont get suckered into something you dont know much about. Just wait....if they released this for a card know the map of the ROM 102....they have to be pretty close to having a "no card" soultion. This jsut was a quick temp fix to shut some people up...boost sales of card readers, cards...ext...so hang tight you guys...getting closer!

Hi i just bought a coolsat 5000 and i have no idea how to install it exactly. what am i supposed to put in the dish setting for the satelite, LNB power, LNB type, LNB frequency and any other settings. also do i need to download stuff from online to get it to work properly? i currently have dish network satelites set up outside and im not sure how to make the reciever get the proper signals from it.

LNB Power = ON
LNB Type = Twin Legacy 1 (for 119) Twin Legacy 2 (for 110) you'll have to play with this . It depends on which LNB you are hooked to at your dish. Twin legacy 1 could be 110. Just when you are in dish setting menu and you go to 110...if you put it on legacy 1 and it says you are on 119..change it to the twin 2 until it reads 110.
LNB Freq = This should be pre set for you ..if not I beleive its 11250. But it should be set already. Jerry verify that for me.
You will have to download the latest file,..right now...only tyhings that are working is Locals. NBC, CBS, FOX ect.....Everything eles id down due to the latest ECM. But should be up soon. But you could download 1.23 file versrion. You can get this from any DSS site.
After that jsut doe and AUTO SCAN. Then watch tv. Again jsut locals at this time. Good luck!

i tried what u said and i do pick up a signal but i live in long island and i dont see any of the local channels from there on the guide. also i get a signal and when i change the channel the load thing goes to 100 and its green but the channels dont load. i kno that you said that the thing is down and what not, but i cant even see local channels, all i get is one channel, aside from that nothing. so i was wondering if there are any other settings that i can try to get the local channels of some sort?

I don't own a Coolsat but you need to go into the setup or installation part of the menu and do a SAT scan or Blind Scan after you are sure you have the dish aimed right. That will pick up the channels for you. I'm not sure how Coolsat lists their menu. Won't be many channels right now.
