    Hi all,

Looking to update my eurovox max (as it no longer works) which i've had for quite some time.
Been looking at Starview 6 or Kryptview A780.
Any suggestions or comments to help me decide.

    Thanks

    Craig

if you want a box that has 5 months working with no prob and with the best support of any of the cable boxes you should go for the A780 kryptview

    Thanks e45,

Why do you say only 5 months working?

    Cheers

No your 2 options are as above on cable, Starview or Kryptview, the Kryptview has been working for the last 5 months with no problems unlike the starview which has had problems.

    Thanks,
Am I right in thinking that when you mention problems, you then need to update your box's firmware etc?
So sounds like the Kryptview would be the better option then. As I have read that that the starview 6 box only lasts for 12 months.
How true is it that they (cable supplier) can not detect what you are watching through ip address?

What options are there for satelite? As I do have a dish, would i need to start up basic package?

for Sat, use the search function and search for Shy chans on Dreambox, all ya need is that thread, without getting into the rights and wrongs, how can you cable cpompany catch you by using your IP? unless they provide the bband service, again, there are threads on this so I would advise you to read them to get a better understanding of whats involved, the krypt is a better box, better support, better uptime etc etc.

The reason i say 5 mts as N3 has only been intruduced into the uk in that time before that the kryptview has been running the last 2 yrs with no problems on N1
