Help please. I'm not sure what has happened to the signal on the cable side,is it possible that ?? have blocked it. If so, can it be reversed.

have you check the cable is not out of the box? how long you got the box? could be a server issue also, if its the server, then its wait and see, could be a issue with your cable provider, have you checked their maint page for any issues in your area?

You dont give a lot of info in your question

There have been several reports of server or prov problems this morning. If problem persists
reboot router & box

Don`t know if this is the same problem, but I have lost a few channels, SP123 and others down the list, but most are ok. The fraud page just past SP1 reads "lost some channels?" and says call their number

You will get a more favorable response here than you will from fraud page number. If they were
to call it lost channels helpline they might get a lot more callers

nothing to do with the fraud page you can delete that channel and it will no longer show that comes on the box automatically as soon as you scan your box Sv server is down at the moment and some of Kryptview channels are also off all will be back by 7pm on Krypt anyways

are you sure you have your correct net id from your subbed box?? as a lot of areas in the uk have been changed.

#11 28 Jan 2011 @ 5:37
sorry guys, yes it is all plugged in okay, there was a problem with provider but although this has been resolved, still getting no signal through SV. Not sure what you mean by correct net id from subbed box. Everything was working fine, the signal just went off and it now says 'no signal'. I installed the Carling file in Sept/Oct 10. Please, please help!

did you reset the box after flashing the new file? factory reset and then re-scan the chans on the correct network? I did see someone mention that the UK have moved some folk to a different network, so if you were on say 6952 TW, you may be on 6887 old ntl, worth a shot, but always reset the box after flashing it and rescan

I did a factory re-set and this deleted all channels. Have tried to load cable but still showing no signal. It lights up for a second and then shuts off. Is it possible they can block the signal without interfering with the broadband signal? I am able to load the sat side but obviously the majority of these are scrambled. I don't understand how the cs system works or how you get it for that matter, but I do know that if I had this I would be able to watch all.

if your not paying a sub for your TV and on BBAND sub only, yes they can lower the signal to you if thats what yer doing, do you have a box from the provider you can plug in to see if this is the case? If your not paying a TV sub, they lower signal right down.

But you havent said whether you tried to scan on 6952 and 6887 when you reset the box, have you done that?

How long have you got this box also? If over 12 months, then thats the cable side gone for good.

Does your box have LAN-connection, If it does it needs to be connected to router with LAN-cable
You need to do auto-scan to find channels. Try using sym rate 6952 first & then use 6887 if
6952 finds no channels. Make sure TV Prov cable is in correct connection.
When channels are found you need you need to alter settings
MENU--ACCESSORY--8989--torn auto updates ON

As you say not paying for a sub, although the signal comes on for a couple of secs and then goes off. It says 'No signal' and the bars don't show anything. I have tried to scan on the other frequency but again it shows no signal. I actually loaded the carling file in sept/oct 2010 and everything has been fine until now.

well sounds like they have cut ya off or dropped the signal right down, have ya tried to use the box in a different house? do a scan and if the chans come in no prob, theres yer problem,

Ya still havent said how long ya have the box? is this a combo with the lan or without the lan?

Possibly around 12 months, but I only put on the carling file in Sept/Oct last year due to N3 being phased in, its the one with the lan.

Do you know what the CAM slot or the Smart Card slot does. Would I be able to get one and would it de-scramble S?? channels.

Card slot is no good to you. if you scan in channels LAN connected to internet will clear all
encrypted channels, providing your 1 year sub has not expired. When Prov was resolving problem
they may have cut supply to cable you are using for Combo. Could you try scanning Combo at
diff cable point that you know is working

I might be able to try at a relations house purely for the signal but I know they don't have bband. If the signal proves to be ok obviously the cable side is knxxxxxxxd. Is it possible to view any of the Sxx scrambled channels, if not would you have any other resolutions to the prob or would it be a new stb. If so, would you recommend anything?

alternatively if I were paying for basic sub on contract would I still be able to use stb for all other programmes

If broadband is from cable provider, connect that cable into box(cable in) & scan for channels. If scan works Split that cable to supply B/B modem & box

Thanks for your help and info, did what you suggested, put input cable direct into stb and from there to bb. Now seems to be working. Cheers

Thank god for that. If you had sent me or Mickah a PM giving details from the start this could
have been sorted 3 days ago. There are many old cable points in peoples houses that are no
longer being paid for.Provs don't bother calling round disconnecting these, but if they are
called out to fix a problem they will cut off any cables that are not being paid for. Me and
Mickah did suggest in earlier reply's that cable may have been cut off

glads yer back working, just bear in mind, that your box is near 12 months old, so this will be shut off soon, so its either a new box or a kryptview for the cable, the SV lan combo are not made anymore, so bear that in mins if this is the box ya want
