Hello everyone, I would like to offer a warning about dealing with DVBSeller in China. (Some may say if you deal with sellers in China you get what you deserve but that’s another issue). I ordered and eventually received a Dreambox from them. However it was faulty and I believe the tuner wasn’t working. DVB Seller told me to take the motherboard out and send it back to them and they would replace it. I sent it (international tracking) and they twice refused to accept delivery consequently it was sent back to the UK. When I have contacted them they have just given me excuses, when they have eventually responded. I am particularly frustrated because initially the unit wasn’t working, they promised to put it right, I had more expense sending it back to them and they clearly never intended to honour their promise in the first place! I will never trust them again, it’s been an expensive and time consuming exercise. Beware!
what way did you pay for the product thru Paypal if so put in a paypal dispute if by credit card get on to your credit card company and get them to get your money back
Thanks a lot e45, I am going to start a claim thru paypal (though I thought I read somewhere that they are not interested in counterfeit goods purchased outside ebay).
how is a dreambox counterfeit? its a cable box, no more no less, thats all they need to know, not like ya a bought a TV that has Sonny instead of Sony on the front of it! its a cable box you bought from the seller, which is not up to standard. You want a refund of the cost of the box.
Thanks Mickah. I have just tried to register a dispute with paypal and when I had completed it it said : 'Thank you for registering your complaint about this transaction. Unfortunately, this type of transaction is not eligible for PayPal dispute resolution. We encourage you to continue to work directly with your seller, as we have found that many misunderstandings reach amicable solutions through communication.' So it looks as if I'm shafted!
cant you not open a dispute only after a certain time? From paypal You can open a dispute within 45 days of the date when you made the payment. If you’re still unable to resolve the issue, you can escalate your dispute to a claim, which means PayPal will review the case and decide the outcome. If you do not escalate to a claim within 20 days of opening the dispute, we will close the dispute. Not sure of the details or time frame of your problem to comment, but if its oustside the above, then you may be knackered
I guess their scam of refusing it twice and having it returned was their way of guaranteeing they had screwed you over.. paypal are the shits too.. they got their cut and they really don't give a toss as long as they get their bit.. paypal.. the scammers friend.
It was just outside the 45 day period for paypal; at least it might act as a warning to others to take great care with DVB Seller. The problems seem to arise with them in after sales service, and a high percentage (it seems, from reading on the forums) of DVB Sellers boxes have to be returned to them.
I would have raised it from the time I got the first bit of jip with it, day 1, anyways, caveat emptor
Good point, but they seemed willing to replace it. Looking back this was probably a deliberate ploy by DVB Seller to take it outside the 45 day period so that a claim could not be made thru paypal.
try again to raise the dispute this time put down fauly goods and that you have been on to them and they said for you to return the other one which you did and they have not replaced the goods you paid for and you are now out of pocket and no goods for what you paid for. Also if you pay paypal per credit card get on to them and tell them you want your money or your goods and let them get on to paypal on your behalf there has to be some way pf getting your goods or money back you will just have to keep at it
Thanks e45, I have done what you suggested above with paypal. I think that they have a fixed rule, if its outside 45 days it's no chance. Will contact bank as the bank card funded the paypal transaction to DVB Seller. thanks again.
Call your credit card company and dispute with them. Your CC company is usually always on your side in disputes. If you paid with your paypal balance then your screwed, never pay for anything with your paypal balance.
if you kick up enough you will get anything done its all about pressure been put on them and also you should have some come back as well from selleras the good should also have a 12mth warranty
I was going to order a DM800 from China @ £190, but found them from UK supplier @ £209, i think i'll pay the extra after reading this as they offer 12 month warranty and postage will be cheaper if any problems.
Thanks for your comments, its really appreciated. I will contact my bank and have also asked DVB Seller for a refund; will keep you posted.
