Hi, I would like to use dvb-c card to watch digital cable TV (NTL) in
the PC. I, of course, have a subscription with ntL. SO, I am not asking how to get any channel I am not paying already.

A TV card manufacturer (Terratec) claims can do that

    Terratec's website states as follows:
"Pay TV extension for Cinergy C PCI HD (cable), installation into an available PCI slot, Common Interface for CAM plus smart card, pay TV contract necessary (not included)"
    http://www.terratec.net/en/products/Cinergy_C_PCI_HD_CI_1612.html

So, they suggest they can do pay cable TV on PC.
However, I read in other posts that there is no combination of TV card + CAM that will work on a PC.

do you know anything about this? Is this possible?

    Thanks

Is that it? Is Sinergy an american digital TV provider? So, that card only works for Sinergy...

Is there any way to get NTL using a similar method?

    Thanks,

I only found so far 2 TV cards that allowed pay TV on PC.
Terratec that only works with USA Cinergy (Thanks for the info e45)
floppyDTV that is no longer in the market

I googled it but no luck at all...

    I have a question about Nagra 2,3...
IT is not clear to me how the switch between nagra versions affects the decoder+CAM setup.
when ntl switched from nagra 1 to 2, I just had another CAM delivered at home without the need of another STB box. So, will not be the same when they switch to nagra3? Will the CAM card be the only component to replace?

    Thanks

I have not intention of watching any channel I am not paying for. So, hacking nagra3 is not the idea

My question is related to, if you have a standard setup:
-A decoder: a dvb-c PC card or an original NTL box
-A legitimate CAM from NTL, from a subscription.

Then, when nagra3 replaces nagra2, what part should you update in your setup, the decoder or just the CAM?

If it is only the CAM, I might not be wasting my money buying a dvb-c TV card, since I will be getting the new CAM from NTL to continue watching the channels I am paying for

    cheers

found out more of why it does not work:
NTL locks the CAM to the box.
they do not give the box key or link the CAM with a non NTL device.

Nothing to do with Nagra3 I think, if you have a licit CAM that deciphers Nagra3
