Have you looked for a BIOS update for your computer? Is your OS up to date? Have you installed any new drivers, hardware?

thanks for the reply, ive finaly fixed the problem, it seems i had a virus (rootkit) that avg could not detect and the aim of this virus is to block the path of any software to the burners. i found this out on http://www.gmer.net/ and used the online scan to find it. it then recomended i use an anti-virus program called avasta and this found another 4 trojens in file extentions. when i deleted all the infections everything went back to normal.
