Hello all, new to the forum and just built a new computer. The motherboard is an Asus P7P55D Pro and it has a PATA 1 x ATA133 2 Dev. Max Port. I was just wondering if you can use a IDE drive with that port. It says in the manual to hook a hard drive up to it but it doesn't say anything about a DVD drive and doesn't warn not to use one. I don't want to try it out and end up frying my board or drive. Thanks.

can use both types of drives but make certain the jumper is correct on both as in master for hd, slave for dvd or cable select for both if have correct cable for that.
