I used to author and burn a lot of DVD's but haven't played with it in about 7 years. Thinking about getting back into it and I notice there are very few Dual Layer dvd writing drives available. Dual Layer blank discs seem even scarcer and are priced pretty high where availabe. Is Dual Layer dead or dying? I can get the drive really cheap now, but if the discs are not going to be available or are going to remain costly, I might skip it. Any thoughts on the future of consumer Dual Layer DVD?

they are alive and well. everyone that I know buys them online due to larger choice and far lower prices. Perhaps that's why they aren't very accessible in person?

Guess I'm just thinking back to when I used to buy the high quality Taiyo Yuden discs dirt cheap. I thought the dual layer ones would have made it to that kind of price point by now. Guess not. Thanks for the input.
