DVD Burning Issues

I recently bought an LG DVD Multi Burner. at first, i tried burning something, it would convert as usual speed, but when it got to the actual burning part, the burning took an unbelievable amount of time. For example, 2 hours and it was at 14 percent. I then took the recommendation of getting a 2.0 usb port, and after installing, it is doing the same thing. Does anyone have any idea? if it helps, i am using ConvertXtodvd to burn stuff...
