i have no idea were to post this but i have a sata philips spd2513 dvd combo drive that i'm trying to put on an ide motherboard. i got a convertor board that plugs directly into the sata interface and on the back side has ide interface and power. the computer sees the drive, but it sees it as "P@IDIPS SPD2513" and treats it as a cd drive. philips intelligent agent won't see it as a philips product. any clue where to start to fix this?
