dvdrip xvid converter

hi i have a couple of movies in the above format they wont play in wmp and cant convert them to dvd format to play on my dvd player
i tried using winavi and avs4you video converter 6 says file format error
dvdrip.xvid-amiable.avi
how can i convert these movies
there in rar format i converted the first rar file ?

You have to extract the avi from the rar. here's a guide for WinRar: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/winrar_guide.cfm Basically, install it deselecting iso and then click on the first rar choosing extract here. You'll have your avi in a minute.

Yes but not familiar with it at all. Should be plenty of guide's around the web, here's one: http://snesorama.us/board/showthread.php?p=290513 For a game but shouldn't matter. Edit: forgot this. If on XP, this link for a free WinRar work's but this version doesn't on Vista. Just download WinRar 3.51, install it, save the key to your desktop and click it or right click and select open, can't remember which (or the registration method detailed) and keep the key somewhere: http://www.kevinhatfield.org/?p=425

With most of the free decompressors don't start with the first (ie .r00, .r01 etc), Find the one with the actual .rar extension and decompress it.
