    Hey

First you will need to upload the files to a Server, eg www.geocities.com or other webspace.

Then you use the img tages like. [.img]http://www.pictureurlhere.com[./img]

Without the .'s in the tags. Make sure that the img is in lowercase not UPPERCASE.

It depends on the message board aswell, what kind of tags they support.

This one supports the img tags.

Ok, say your username with geocities is moser2006 and the file you want is called something.jpg and is uploaded into the root directory of your space.

    You would type [.img]http://www.geocities.com/moser2006/something.jpg[./img]

Without the dots. That will work here.

the <img src> tags are for HTML, so Messages boards dont use them.

Anybody here use imageshack? This is the first time I have ever
tried to post a picture. Setting up an account and uploading a
pic was easy. I'm still not clear on the link process or how to
put the actual picture on the page. Don't know if you use a forum
link or a webpage link. Also haven't seen clear instructions as to
how much of the link I put between [img*] and [/img*].
Any help would be much appreciated.

I use ImageShake and once you upload a pix:

and then here you have the pixs:

Above the message box, click on the box Add Image. That gives you the [img*]insert link[/img*], but without the asterisks of course. From Imageshack, you use the direct link to the stored photo. The bottom link if I remember correctly. Insert this URL between the img brackets and you'll see what I look like on a pretty summer day. LOL (edited: too ugly, lol).

Ihoe's guide is right on, but I noticed he didn't say which link to use.

@PackMan777........ I did show which link........ 2. Highlight the FORUMS then copy....... can't be more explicit than that!

Another question. Where did the picture go and why now is there
only that little box with an X in it. Is that because I went back
to imageshack and deleted the picture. I thought I didn't need it
    on there anymore.

why did you delete it? it's free!!! also if you delete your source pictures then it will also delete it, I think!!!

I deleted it because I thought once it was posted it stayed there.
It didn't seem to be polite to use up space on someone else's
server, if I didn't need it anymore.

I didn't mean to be coming out strongly...... but that's what imageshack is there for. I have about 10 pages or so of images that are posted...... and it seems that it's unlimited. just keep the pictures at the measurements that it allows and you'll be just fine.

I went to imageshack and undeleted the image. It put it back.

Ihoe-You didn't come on too strong. Sometimes I learn more screwing
up than I do not trying everything.

I may look young but I'm not..... I just keep in shape. I don't want to limit myself as I get older! Now I travel alot and enjoy places I haven't been..... I'll be in Vegas in one week and 2 weeks ago I was in Baltimore and Washington DC and NYC! and before that I was upstate NY to visit the Baseball Hall of Fame! and before that I was in Denver and the Rocky Mountains National Park! This past summer and fall have been great! Who says life is over after your 55!!
