I am having the same problem as Jask, which was posted on 17 November 2004. I can't seem to find (or work out, as I am new to this) the answer. Can anybody help me with the following:

Request denied by phone (Forbidden (0x43))
Request denied by phone (requested entity too large (0x4D))

Your help is very much appreciated!!!!

    oopppsss...sorry

I have a Motorola E398 and USB cable. I have d/l some music to the pc which I have transferred to the mobile phone, then used this music as ringtones.
I recently tried again to transfer some music to the phone via the USB cable, only to get the following....

Request denied by phone (Forbiddeen (0x43)) or
Request denied by phone (requested entity too large (0x4D))

I retried a song (the Addams Family theme song), which is one of my ringtones that I had previously been able to send to the phone. I still had it saved on the pc, but when I tried to send it, the message "Request denied by phone .....etc etc came up.

What am I doing wrong?????? Please help!!!

    Thanks Shelly

I am also having the same problem that Shellys is having. I have a Motorola V220 replacement for the V220 that I lost last month, and i am getting the same message that she is whenever I try to download pics to my phone, i know that they should go on there, they were taken by the same phone model as this one, any help would be apprecialted.

that message means whatever u r uploading to ur fone is huge, if its picture make sure its 128x128 and if its a ringtone make sure the size of the tone is small,,,,,

I am using MPT. To make my ringtones i am using a ringtone ripper to make the frequency the correct one that my phone will recognise, but it still gives me the same message.

if u still have this problem just use the P2Kman or P2Ktools,,,,,

P2K is similar to MPT, u can upload picture and ringtones to ur fone or download pictures and tones to ur PC, u can edit seems or delete the original pictures and tones and more more.....

The MPT should transfer the ringtones, but it says too large. I have cut the file down to 7 sec, so it should not be too large. ?????

make sure that the mp3 file isn't corrupt. It will corrupt the other music files as well. I uploaded a corrupt mp3 using mpt on my v80 and all of a sudden, all of my midi ringtones including the ones locked by the manufacturer kept showing an unidentifiable file format screen, asking me to delete. I did a master reset and then mpt wouldn't work. Finally got it to work after trying to install previous versions as well as trying out mobiledit! v1.95.
