mcafee is a joke and a big problem to anyone who installs it. DONT ever install it again. this is what you need to do to fix the issue.
Go to start>run> type in regedit.
once regedit opens up you need to go to file>export and save a copy of your registry to a cd or jump drive incase you screw it up.
then once its backed up go to Edit> find and then type in mcafee.
once you do that delete every single trace of mcafee the registry finds and once you go through every entry which could be about 50 or so. it will say cant not find any more traces of mcafee or something close to that message and then restart the computer and the issue should be fixed.

For internet security that works, I'd recommend either AVG or NOD32, in conjunction with Lavasoft Ad-Aware.

You mean IE6? I kind of use them interchangeably, when one can't load a page I use the other.

GTR35, all you had to do was uninstall ie7 as no need to reformat hd & reload windows.

rogeball, edit your sig to conform to forum specs ASAP.

wakemxbmx, check mcaffee site for their removal tool as i have a copy of it. ran into the same problem but it was norton firewall that was causing the problem. not anymore.

Well, perhaps there were registry keys involved, either way IE7 sucks.
