I've never messed with that but you might try it. I know that they are set up 8.00 (benq & pioneer) and 1.00 (liteon) that way for reason but can't remember right now. I'll look it up and see what I can find.

hummm opening multi accounts again there rob lol. damn though my PC whacked out on me tonight, nero had an error report my Lite-ON drive was acting up till i come to realize the blank DVD i had in the drive was upside down . the TY media will not record on the shiny side boys and girls lol

 

If you drank any I would say STOP IT!!! lol. Never done that one but I'm about 1000-2000 burns behind you. lol. I'll this my kiddies have tried to play a movie from the wrong side, and btw that doesn't work either. hehehe.

Rob nice to see your email has returned. The NET can be tricky sometimes.

Got a couple of scans but I want to finish a couple of more before I post. New f/w for the Lite-On 20A3P has made it a decent drive.

yea yahoo has a mind of its own. i should look into a different email other than yahoo. ive had way to many problems, as well as others have. i blame mark cuban..lol

speaking of firmware updates need to check into the 2 drives i have and see if they have any updates... i know the SHW-160P6S (psob) hasnt changed in a while...and the LH-18A1P it changed like 3 times in a month and nothing in awhile also...

getting ready to redo how the grinch stole X-mas on a verb DL will have the scan shortly

Still have better results using the PS09 firmware for the SHW-160P6S, gives better scans, you may want to look into that.

gonna try something here burn 2 different movies at the same time on 2 different programs. a iso with image burn and a vob with clonedvd2.

I played a little this morning and did two movies with two different progies [Clone and 1click]. the first movies went good w/ two movies uncoded...but today one was pirates 3 2hrs 46 min. or so and another 1 hr. + [coded] the things was my CPU never went over 30% in the reading part and as for the burning it nover went of 7 % BUT it was really, really slow and I had to go to work- so left it running and took off

how long was your total time?

Another thing I ve been learning is my lity doesnt always like TYs...Hmmm going to have to check the firmware... up-dated like a month ago.

the first one there was only 52 mins long. the second one was 2 hours(jim carey as the grinch) i didnt really notice much of a slow down of my computer, but then mine isnt superfast anyways..lol

my 18x litey doesnt do as well on the TY's compaired to the Verbs. not saying i get bad burns with the TY's i just get better scores with the verbs and have noticed a pixel here and there on a few of the TYs.. now my 16x litey loves the TY's no matter what -/+ 8 or 16x

@you silly guys doing the "multiple" encodes/transcodes. I'm not sure that I would do something like that because of the possibility of getting a "dirty" rip. I like to have the HDD (computer) as clean as possible when I rip a DVD in. I've had more problems with that than the burner. Of course cincyrob knows that I get lucky when it comes to burners. hehehe. ;P

those were lovely..lol looks as good as my last DL burn..lol OH they wasnt that bad.

just looking at the scans id have to say the verb looks the best overall.

luck with the burners is a understatement.. they all just need a big home now..lol

i did just defrag and cleanup and all that good stuff right before i did that... heck i normally dont rip anything to the HDD everything is on the fly for me.. but i had to in this case to do this experiment. i was suprised by the out come of the 2 disc i thought for sure i would have some holiday costers for the company..lol

You do know that Clone2 "rips" a temporary folder to your HDD then burns that "folder image" to disc then deletes that image if you have it set up that way. You can have Clone2 "save" the image to HDD if you so desire.

You should see all the test f/w for the DH-20A3P I've downloaded. Probably at least 10, course that's a guess. lol.
