starview 2 "the box" set up help

    Ok , this is the last resort to try

    Go to the Eko site and go to the "Starvi*w" folder then "SV Channel Dump" folder and download the "Dublin30122007.bin" to your desktop

    This is the channel file for N*L Dublin and you can load them directly onto your b0x instead of scanning

    Disconnect the SV from your TV and connect it to the PC with the NULL MODEM CABLE and put it on STANDBY

    Open GT ROM LOADER

    Click "Channel Data File"

    Click "BIN File" and locate the channel dump you just downloaded to your PC

    Then click on "Download" and the channels should transfer to your b0x

    Wait till you see the pop up b0x "Download Complete" before disconnecting

    Connect the SV back to the TV and see if you have channels on it now

    oh my god ur a legend, It working. Came up on RTE1 and said updating then it came on. Thank you so much for all that, and to think I was so close to smashing it to pieces!!! Ur a life saver Celtic71

    Hey celtic71, you online? I got all that working last night but this morning 70% of the channels are scrambled and have dolar signs beside them. Whats the reason for this?

    Hi , Press Menu then 1570 and make sure the EMU key is ON

    Yea EMU is on. also the screen keeps going blank green and then the box turns off and on again by itself

    Try this , Press Menu then 1570 go down to "Set Default Key" and press Ok

    Then go to S*Y Sports and let it update itself

    Ok set the default key, went to s*y sports and it updated to 110%. Got most of the channels back except for s*y sports 2 & 3 and s*y prem but to be fair im happy enough to get this far think ill just live without them. Thanks again Celtic71

    No problem , It could be a weak freq in your area for those channels

    Guys, I am having the same problem, I am wondering is there one of these bin files that would work for chorus or would it be the same as the NTL ?

    I'm sorry but Chor*s is a different channels and frequencies

    Can you tell me what problems you are having and are you on True Cable or MMDS (Aerial On Roof)

    Hi guys. I'm near Dublin. Just bought a "The Box". E Ver 4.500 date 6 July 2007. with HDD. Have NTHell on 2 other cables in home with subs to movies, sports etc. Connect the box to third cable, which works w/o decoder to get analogue signals, after installing HDD and installation tells me no signal, no matter what I try. Have formatted HDD several times. Whe I turn it on box says "init", gets past lannguage on menu to install on TV screen , using SCART cable. No signals found and no channels at all. Remote control doesn't work at all but button on box work. Grateful for pointers on what next?

    Had some success. Used the loop-through cable from cable1 output from cable output to ANT IN. Now have lots of channels but remote control still not working.

    If you have a mobile phone with a camera, switch it to camera mode. Point the remote at the camera lens and press some buttons , and you should see the infra-red LED flashing on the screen. If you don't see it flashing, then yes, the remote is dead.If you do see it flashing, then it's not the remote.

    Hi Celtic

    The problem is that I only get 30 or so tv channels coming through. I can't get BBc or UTV or Channel4 etc. I have tried all the frequencies that I can find and no joy

    Could the quality of the cable coming into the house cause this ?

    English > Installation
    Choose Provider etc
    Automatic Scan
    Press OK
    Channels found
    Exit

    Press Menu then 1570
    Turn EMU key ON

    Exit , exit , exit
