    its going to have

    GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L
    Q6600 OC @ 3.0ghz
    Radion 4870
    500gb HDD
    DVD +/- RW drive
    Freezer 7 Pro
    G. Skill 4gb RAM
    Creative Sound Blaster SB0570
    NZXT Apollo case

i think thats about it. will a 550VX be enough to run all of this? do i need any other fans? like a fan for the CPU or fan for the side of the case?

That case and PSU will be plenty for this system.

oh cool, i thought OC the cpu and running all that other stuff might be too much. also, how many fans do i need to keep it cool?

so the artic cooler is a fan for the CPU?? i read the specs on newegg and it says i have two slots on the case for 2 120mm fans. any suggestions for those?

The fans in the NZXT Apollo should suffice - if you want a bit of extra cooling power, replace the back fan with a Scythe SFF21F.

At full load that system will draw about 350W from the outlet, so a 550W PSU (remember that's 630W+ from the outlet) will do fine, especially a Corsair. If you want your system quiet however, I'd recommend going with the Corsair HX 520W instead of the VX550, as the HX units remain silent under high load.

wow that was quick. does the Corsair HX 520W have the same power as the 550VX? is it pretty much the same but quieter?

They're both quiet at low loads, but the HX stays quieter a lot longer. It's also modular, which is why it's more expensive.

i think ill just say with the VX then, since quietness from the PSU is not a big thing for me.
