    Hi there
    is it possible to up date firm ware to a new box that hasnt been flashed from a box that has been flashed via null modem cable.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

    yes, you need to connect the box's with the cable, put the box which you want to flash in standby and turn the box away from the other one (so you dont turn it on with the remote when you are using the other box) go to menu on the master box and select SW / Data transfer and press ok, selct what you want to transfer SW or Channel Data. But make sure the box is the same as what your using. BOX to BOX, Starview to Starview, Super to Super etc etc

    ok got that far but when i try to start s/w transfer
    nothing happens

    have you got the box you want to transfer to in standby? Have you got the leads in correctly?

    i think so db9f to db9f null modem cableand the box in standby mode with the time on the screen is that right

    yeah only the time will be on the front of the box

    is all the cables in firmliy and you do have the right cable?

    Hi moggser all the cables are in tight and i have an rs232 null modem cable its brand new never been used before just wondering if the cable is faulty i bought it on flee bay and it came in from hong kong

    there is 2 types of the cable you might of got wrong one where abouts is ya?

    no, im new to this bought a couple of boxes and had to pay to get them flashed now all my family are looking for them so i bought a few more but im trying to flash them myself

    Had the same problem but this worked. Follow the previous advise by putting the slave box into standby. Then turn on the master box and go to user / data transfer. Select OK and the transfer will begin.

    Hi there i managed to flash my first starview3 box but i am missing loads of the stations ive tried the scans and the emu is on all the leads are in tight and i managed to lose most of the channels off my original box that ive had for a few weeks did the thing with the codes in nagravision you know 75 92 B1 etc anyone got any ideas .

    Gazza, try this.
    menu > 1570
    Set default key > press ok & exit to s*y sports & let it update.
    You dont need to go to nagra & enter codes if you have the correct firmw@re on the b0x.

    Hi noely ive tried what you said and data is being updated is coming up on the screen but nothing is happening ,its the starview 3 the box super and i flashed it with version 8.00 e E is that right
