So i just installed a my purchased copy of W7 and thought i would talk about some of my road bumps to help others out...

1)BURN 2 COPIES if you download the iso from microsoft. My brand new burner using nero8 failed me on this one and i luckly enough burnt the ISO file and made another copy on my roomates computer.

    2) If you have an upgrade copy of windows 7 your key will not activate if you custom install. There is a work around for this, I learned the hard way. If you want to do a clean install and reformat from an upgrade copy you have to do the custom install by booting to the dvd and going threw that who process. Then once windows loads and is all hunky dory you have to install it AGAIN this time load it from windows (just stick the disk in when computers booted and go) select upgrade and go threw it all over again. Finally you will be able to ACTIVATE your genuine windows copy.

All in all it was a fairly simple install no driver issues or anything like that. Only thing was it was time consuming and that i went into a paniked frenzy during the part 1 roadbump. Then i was angered by the part 2 roadbump but what can you do.

P.S. I got the info for the second part of this from them lovley people at microsoft.

Calm down there turbo don't go crazy... The big question is are you trying to go from 32 bit to 64 bit? If so u have to boot from the cd and do a custom install then see my foment on doing a custom install with upgrade edition. If u ask me it's just easier to do a clean install less issues...

Ohh and about apple if u like customazation in ur os stay away remeber they are very picky about what u do with ur pc. Ohh and I hope u have all mac aproved hardware

I did not have any problem with my install(UPGRADE) from Vista Pro. Some compatability issues that was minor. I just had to uninstall a a third party software, and a device, but the device was re install automatically after the boot up

I did a clean install from XP Pro 64 bit with no problems then or now. Everything is running stable and fast.

It's auto generated when people abuse the English language and litter the forums with lazy and annoying text speak. In future use real, full, wholesome words only
