yes, not denying that... been resigned to that for some time ... point is that a though both his & his neighbours 'chipped' boxes and starviews have gone down, his neighbours Eurovox is still working

Does anyone know how I can scan my Eurovox to pick up freeview channel during the blackout? I've scanned a few times this morning and now have nothing at all.

you wont get anything more than ya would by plugging the cable back into the TV itself,

Cheers for the answer but not sure I'm with you. I was hoping to use the eurovox as a freeview box while all this is going on, but it's picking up no channels at all when I scan - not even BBC1 etc. The TV I'm going to use it with isn't digital ready and doesn't have built in freeview, so I thought the eurovox might act as a cable fed freeview box. I have cable upstairs and downstairs so don't really want to have a digital ariel fitted unless I really need to.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

dont confuse Freeview with the Eurovox, the Eurovox isnt a free view box, as they make the furthur changes, this box will become totally redundant, what I suggest above is to just plug your cable into yer TV as you will get more chans than trying to use the Eurovox,

    But.....

What I would do if I were you is read the ICONNECT thread, put the eurovox to bed and get yerself a Kryptview using the ICONNECT or a Starview 6, but go with the Kryptview if i were you.

Cheers for the advice, I'll take a look at the Kryptview. Do you think the eurovox is completely dead then? I was hoping some clever folk would do their magic and get them working again in the near future. Don't want to lay any cash out if the Eurovox is back up in a few weeks and d day is the start of the new prem season so there's a bit of time.

I'll also try the Eurovox with a portable digital ariel - might work for the freeview stuff. Not being able to watch family guy in bed last night sucked!

The Eurovox is gone and wont be coming back and a digital aerial wont work with them as I said, dont confuse the two,

The eurovox is a cable box, not a freeview box,

The the only box's working is the Kryptview box with the ICOONECT and the Starview 6, both need to be connected to a modem for them to clear the chans, all the info ya need is in the SV6 threads and the ICONNECT threads

Thanks for clearing things up Mickah. Seems such a shame to chuck the Eurovox away, but at least I can salvage the hard drive.

    Hi All

Just a quick question for Mikah as i couldnt find the answer to this elsewhere

The starview HD Combo. Will this read a new vm nag 3 card?

Reason im asking is i like the starview setup and would like to buy 1 of these boxes and use my original subscription with it.

Also would it be possible to setup cardshare via a home and external network with these boxes? Sorry if this has been replicated elsewhere but i just cant find any other info on it.

    Thanks

P.S also i havent saw any news on whether its actually possible to do a c/s with vm

At the present time there are only 3 boxes working on N3

    1 Kryptview

    2 Starview 6

    3 Starview combo

all above clear N3 using broadband connection the starview above have only a 12mth life span on the cable side after that you either use the combo for sat or purchase another box same with the starview 6 you dont have the sat option with that box

First of all I would like to thank MICKAH and e45, for all their help and advice. I live in Burnley, not got my new v/m card yet but it seems its only a matter of time now, just had to re-scan my Eurovox box because I lost some channels, all back now though, will let everyone know my new card arrives.
