Should work directly from the model too so long as you reboot the modem after you connect the box

Also as stated above about certain ethernet cables i had this problem before. Bought a super duper 1 for my 4mb broadband connection back in the early days and the way the computer case was the connections were too short to make full contact.

To be honest cheap is better for cable box leads

    Thanks e45

I have come to the conclusion that the ethernet port on my box, can't be working properly.

My reason is that when I connect my laptop with a cable to Lan 2 on my router, a light appears in Lan 2 position on my router. But if I connect my box with a cable to the router, no light appears, even though it's plugged in to the mains.

Therefore, I conclude that router is not recognising the power from the box. Please let me know if what I am saying is correct, in which case I would send the box back to skywonder.

    @ Beaten

There maybe a problem that you havent considered mate. They usdually say that once you have added new firmware to the box they will refuse to accept it back regardless of the fault.

    Hi Chaps

So long as when you scan the channels pickup in the channel lists your connection is fine

If they just dont open and say bad or scrambled channel its the server (LAN) which we cant do anything about. Its down to krypt who by now are starting to p*ss a few people off thats for sure.

I suspect when news gets around people will stop buying their boxes. Maybe this will be a good thing and wake them up abit

as far as i am concerned the server and box is working flawlessly obviously there will be routine scrabbles and changes as they are fiddling about with the server which is the "norm" for any server. My point of view.

by now they are prob setting up another server, if not well the 1 they are using now is probably getting a bit bloated.

Do you have to do anything to your router settings? If so what?

    Cheers
