Wrong firmware, this is the problem with the r4 - 40 of them all with different firmware.

The site in my signature host them all

    General rules

    1) Format your micro SD with Panasonics SD formatter (free use Google to find) and use it each time you change the firmware.

    2) Download your firmware and extract it straight on to the SD (not onto the PC then transfer)

    3) Try the available firmware's - http://www.linfoxdomain.com/nintendo/ds/ hosts them all, start with the likely candidates and work your way through

    4) Ensure the SD card is seated correctly in the R4 before putting into the DS.

    5) If the card is not seen by the DS try the paper shim trick - if the contacts to the DS are not good enough then the unit can not draw enough power to run. Put a piece of folded paper or thin card between the DS and the cartridge to push the contacts together

    6) Unless it specifically says - the unit can take up to 2GB micro SD's, if it says SDHC then it can take up to 32GB

    7) Ensure the clock is correctly set on the DS - this upsets some R4's

    8) At the firmware stage do not put any roms on, get it past the loading issue first. Once past the loading issue put 1 known good rom on and see if you can get it to run (some firmwares will boot on other cards but will not run a rom)

    Good Luck

    Hi,
Im having a similar problem, Ive got the R4i card SDHC with 1.14v firmware... Im using a sd card from the DS which had games on it previously, Ive tried removing all folders from it but the TTMenu wont budge.
Do I need to reformat it and fiddle about with different firmware, and also where do I put the games when transferring from pc to sd card?

Check what firmware is on your DSi, this could possibly be the problem.
