I have Nero 9, was working just fine, can't remember when the problem started. But every time I try to burn an audio Cd, it will say waiting on target disc, so I put in a new disc, and another and another and I keep getting the same problem/message, every once in a while it will burn a CD, but after one or two it will stop and go back to saying: waiting on target disc, so I email Nero and explain my problem and they told me how to find the nero log and how to email that log to them, this I did, they said something about the firmware (but didn't tell me if I need to update windows or some other program, not did I understand how to download or what to download. I email them back and they forward some information for me to clean all of Nero off the system and re-install, and this I did good on and restarted the system. open up Nero and it allow me to burn about four audio talks and then it started to say the samething again: waiting on target disc. Can anyone help me????

    Thanks
    Sthomp

Locate the Nero log file, copy it then paste it here.

    That's not it.
See if this link can help you locate it.

    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/283486

Do you only burn audio cd's?
Have you any problem burning data disks or DVD's?
The firmware that Nero support referred to would be the firmware on the burner - and since this is a Dell PC, any firmware update (if there was one available) would probably have to be downloaded from their site.

You can use Samsung's app to check your firmware version. Download it here.

The latest version is 'DW30', which you can find here or here.

It could be that the laser in your drive is just crapping out and consequently being a bit picky.

I click on download and it goes thur the download, but somewhere in the downloading a box open up: in side the box there is: tsstcorpDVE+RW TS-H65.... D.... and below is a small box that says F/W File: I need to type something in there! on the side of he open area box is the word search, I think I need to put sometype of tile there, but everything I put in: it says can't find or not open (something like that) below is the where you click on download, if I click on that it says _ File not open. am having trouble download the update, a box did come up saying that the file already exit, did I won't to override it, I click yes" and it said something like up zip, I think am messing up things.

    This was under my warning:
The thumbnail handler for video files is possibly no more working [#59451]
    - there are possibly not updated nero files in the virtualstore folder.

You don't need to post the log as an attachment, you can just copy and paste the contents of it to your post here. Or use a website such as pastebin.net to host it, and then link it to us (which might be a better option).

Here are the brief steps you need to flash the firmware from Dell, just so you don't get confused.

    1. Download this file.
    2. Run the downloaded file, 'R306360.exe'
    3. On the first screen, which lists a lot of language/models supported, press 'Continue'
    4. Extract the files to a location you will remember
    5. Once the TSDNWIN windows opens, you should see your drive listed where it says 'Model Name'. The current firmware version will be listed in the 'Ver.' column. Select your drive by ticking the box next to it.
    6. Where it says 'F/W File' click 'Search' and browse to the location you unzipped your files to and select the file in the 'Windows' folder called '653GDW30.bin'
    7. Continue and follow the prompts to update your firmware.

Still, it would probably be best to see that failed burn log before you go about updating your firmware.

The Nero/log information is in a file draw type image (downloaded to my desktop), whenever I try and open file another box open, but it will not allow me to cut and past it, also I tried to download the firmware from Dell site and from the above link, each time I get to a point of: The file "C:\dell\driver\R3063601\DOS\653GDW30.BIN'already exists-do you want to overwrite it, if I said yes, it says unzip file, but takes me to another box that wants me to box in a file name (from there I don't know what am doing or what to do from there)

If the file is an image, upload it here and link it to us.

You don't need to re-download the file really, I was just checking you have the correct file(s). Presumably you're getting stuck on this screen..

So you should follow these steps from above onwards (I have labelled them on the picture for you).

Mine will look a bit different to yours because I don't have a DVD drive in my laptop.

    No, it's not.

In Nero 6 and 7, it was as follows:

    Nero 6: Program Files>Ahead>Nero>NeroHistory

    Nero 7: Program Files>Nero>Nero 7>Core>NeroHistory

So have a look in those sort of locations, or for a folder named NeroHistory.
