'Gangnam Style' made $8 million in revenue from YouTube, alone

'Gangnam Style' made $8 million in revenue from YouTube, alone Google has noted today that Psy's blockbuster 'Gangnam Style' made over $8 million in revenue from the video sharing site.
Gangnam is the most-watched YouTube video of all-time, reaching 1.2 billion views since its launch in the summer of last year.

CBO Nikesh Arora boasted the figure during the company's quarterly earnings report.

Originators of videos normally keep 50 percent of the revenue after a certain point, which implies that Psy and his label have made $4 million just from YouTube in the last 7 months.

This figure does not include iTunes, streaming or other forms of revenue generation but it seems that Psy had a very good year.

Not sure what you mean there. But wonder how tiny a cut he'll get from the record label? Give him a copy a StarCraft maybe? lol

There's a huge industry involved in buying fake YouTube "views"/hits. It's been a big scandal in the past few months, since YouTube started showing the origins of views (for instance, all the hits for a given video coming from Lithuania, Kazakhstan, and so on). A couple of large companies lost all of their view counts.

Eh? You're going to have a hard time convincing me that "Gangnam Style" is hateful of anyone, dude.

Sorry, I'm referring to Psy[kotex]'s now walked back anti-American remarks.

psy's song which featured anti amercan remarks was not officialy released in usa.it was also a long time ago and written in anger.psy holds no grudge against american and doesnt preach hatred against americans.
also gangnam style has nothing to do with that.

american troops killed innocent people and were not held accountable and probably still kill innocent people and dont get held accountable.

Of course you are right; The Imperialist Americans should have minded their own business throughout history and let the chips fall as they may.
