    Hi everyone!

I have 3 video cassettes (home-made videos) and I need something to help me get the videos onto my laptop and then on a DVD. I've been doing a bit of research on the internet and there are a lot of EasyCap products out there. Has anyone used them? Thoughts? Comments? Which type should I use if it is good, and are there other alternatives you would suggest that may be better (that are not too expensive)?
Do I need any software to go with the capture device? If so, are there any free ones that are good?

    Thank you in advance!

PS I would like something I can use externally.

That really is strange! Comes up with an error saying
I'll try sending them a message, maybe?

Do you think that EzCap 170 would be better?

I've never used the external devices, so can't say.
Post at the VideoHelp site as well as Afterdawn for opinions.

Don't buy any EzCap device, this devices don't work, you will get a great headache trying to capture a video.

    Hi

Do not buy the EzCap device(rubbish) instead buy a pinnacle dazzle capture device. I purchased one and it transferred all my home movies to my computer/DVD.You can use the pinnacle software to edit, adjust colour/contrast./sound or a good video editing software I use Nero Video 12 Platinum and you can do practically anything edit wise before burning to DVD.I have a Pinnacle Dazzle DVC100 and have discovered that you can copy/transfer copy protected videos, I've done over 40 Disney tapes without a failed transfer
