i know this is an old topic, just not sure what to do. I burned my dvd (DVD+R)on a verbatime disc at 2x. My dvd player's both say they don't play this type of disc. Do I need a new player or am I doing something wrong (obviously).

    hi

your player may be for -R and not +r ?

you can boojktype the +r to be like dvdrom (more compatible) if your burner / app allows this

I use DVD Decrypter to burn, I tried to find the DVD ROM feature. No luck. My burner is a HP DVD Writer 400c. It plays back fine on the computer. I use a Panasonic S27 on the tv. I checked some forum page and its supposed to work. Although some said they couldn't play the +R's on their's, another said it did work.

    Thanks

That site made me nervous about ruining my burner. I'll give it a try!
    Thanks again

I downloaded and installed. I went to booktype but don't understand the options. Where does it actually read where I can change to DVD Rom?

    20sx,

I'm not positive that your dvdrw is booktyping capable. Open dvd decrypter, click on the tools tab, highlight drive and click on change booktype, then try selecting benq (late model phillips drives are oem benq's), then after change for in the dropdown menu select dvd+r or dvd+rw whichever of these you are useing then after new setting in the dropdown menu select dvd-rom, click change and then ok.
You can check the booktype setting and if it was changed to dvd-rom with this free proggy. http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/

Another way you may be able to booktype dvd+r/rw media to dvd-rom is if you use dvd shrink after you click backup, click on the burn settings tab then check booktype dvd-rom. Good luck, like I said I'm not for sur your drive is capable of booktyping dvd+r/rw media to dvd-rom but it's worth a try. I have booktype utilities that automatically do it for me on both my dvdrw's.
