If you already have AnyDVD then dl CloneDVD and use this program it will encode, compress and burn. If you are looking for free then dl DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter. DVD Shrink will encode and compress and Decrypter will burn your movie. Which will make it one step however it will not bypass newer encryptions, for that you can use Decrypter and rip to your hard drive and then use Shrink. Guides and software are availabe at this site for these programs.

I just quickly want to concur with arniebear about clonedvd 2. Great prog. Easy to use, especially when you re-author. I personally like intervideo Copy 3 better. Quality in my system and from experience seems better. Yet, I would not hesitate in using CloneDVD 2. I have that and use it in conjunction with ANYDVD, hard to beat that combo.

yes i convinced its the best combo out there CloneDVD 2 with anydvd because of the re-authoring capablities of CloneDVD2 and being able to control the burn speed which is a very important (most of us burning at 4X max.)

true Intervideo DVDCopy3 quality is better but NO re-authoring capablities makes it a sub par program in my opinion

@aabbccdd, I agree. I haven't had too many problems, actually I've had two problems when usingthe movie only, but taking those same movies and using customize then the problem goes away. I always know that for consistency, and great quality ClondDVD2/ANYDVD is the great combo. I wish Intervideo would deal with the re-authoring inconsistencies and put out an update to Copy 3. Thanks aabbccdd and have a good day!

I agree about the Intervideo re-authoring problems and the lack of burn control. I liked the program but the inconsisitencies in these areas is a pain. If other programs can include re-authoring and burn control, why can't Intervideo, they charge enough for the program.

@arniebear. I agree my friend, I have sent e-mails to the company asking for them to look into the issues, no response. I use it all the time and with 95% success, I wish it had more capabilities...like shrink's cut/clip option, or like how CloneDVD2 you can removie the credits with the scissors. I know in iNtervideo we can un-check a box that might contain the credits, but sometimes the credits are rolling and the actual movie isn't over. Thanks for your input, experience and your love for making back-ups a great hobby and learning experience. Have a great day!
