hey guys i need some help, i am trying to make a DVD, i downloaded Rammstein - Live Aus Berlin Complete Pal DVDR-ZoM , ive spent several hours and need some help. the file is VIDEO_TS 4.35GB. Nero burns it without errors but it will not play in the dvd player. TMPGEnc DVD Author gives me an error - combined bitrate exceeds the upper limit for a standard DVD. The current bitrate is video:9800kbps, audio:448kbps, combined:10248kbps. The combined video and audio bitrate can be no more than 9848kbps. in the details section i learned, If you are re-encoding to the appropriate bitrate for Linear PCM audio, AC-3 audio (max 448 kbps), and mp2 audio (Max 384 kbps) the bitrate should be within the limit. i have access to lots of software through http://divxcrawler.com , i just dont know which one to use or how to use it since this is my first pc. i appreciate any help you can give.

I am still working on this rammstein PAL video and tried to go into winavi converter, under DVD, then advanced, and switch to ntsc and i get an error -> can not render graph please make sure that your media file can be played by windows media player. so then i tried IFOedit this little trick here-> http://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=221928 and after changing the ifo files to ntsc i would save and close out IFOedit and re-open to see if the changes saved and it keeps going back to PAL. i'm loosing my mind, i should have given up days ago but can not seem to just give up, what else can i do? any ideas?

    Hello jayson13r,

There is always help here. First of all, I would advise you to read a few forums here on AfterDawn (do search, using "pal into ntsc" key). You will get a few forums with a great deal of informaiton.

The simpliest converter is VSODivXtoDVD (free)
    http://www.vso-software.fr/download.htm.
When you use it you have to forse it to NTSC (easy to find, described in one of the forums with pictures).

Another one is NERO (you have to buy it, but it is worth it). If you can get it elsewhere, get it. It does a full conversion, when you will be asked if you want the file to be converted into NTSC. Say "Yes." It does a good job with 2 passes.

Some people use VOB Blanker (free) (also in the forum on Blanker). Very good program to have. It also does conversion, but I have never tried it, being happy with 2 others.
    http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm

Aother program is WinAVI (not free, sorry). Extemely easy to use.

But before you do conversion, I would advise you to install AVICodec (free)
    http://avicodec.duby.info/
    which analizes your files

    or GSpot (free)
    http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/gspot.cfm

which gives you deaper analysis. I have both.
Good luck! Stick to AfterDawn. Help is always around the corner.

    Hello Roma,
I just wanted to say thanks for the help, I did finally figure out how to convert PAL to NTSC with the help of you and Rotary and also doing a little homework by reading other helpful forums. there is so much information here if your just willing to do a little research. i have had much luck with Nero, GSpot, WinAVI, and other programs that i have recently learned how to use by reading some of the forums. Again I say thanks for taking the time to help others.

    Hey jayson13r,
I am happy you have solved your problem. I have had help too, and many times. Before I post anything, I do AfterDawn search to see if there is any info on the problem. Usually it is. But sometimes the problem is still not solved. Then I simply ask.
Stick to AfterDawn and you will find a lot of useful info like all of us have.
Good luck learning about the world of digital video!

    hi

its easy you upload a picture to imageshack.com then get the link / URL and put it inbetween the TAGS

now if you click reply to this thread the box you usualy type in just above that gives image / writing tags, have a look when cliking reply to this thread! all you need then is to paste the url/link from imageshack inbetween!

    [ img ]http://www.theurl.com/picture.jpg[ /img ] <--- looks like that without spaces...

    Thank you, Rotary,

I will try it as soon as I can. Can not wait to see how it works.

What do you think about avi2DVD? It looks good. I have VSODivxToDVD, NERO, WinAVI converters. Could you compare them with avi2DVD? Is it easy to find out how it works? Some people said it took them long time to figure it out...

    Hello Rotary,
I am reading your advice on images. How do I get the image itself to upload?

    Hello Rotary,
It seems you do not understand me. I want to be able to post guides or comments giving pictures (images) like what you did here with the picture of avi2DVD. How did you do that? How to save an image (picture) of the open program window? I have read about it in one of the forums but am not able to find it now.

    Hello Rotary,

Again, I need your advice. I have placed a number of images (see the link):
    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/44/82733

But some of them did not open, providing only link to the images. Interesting, that when I placed the same image on the same page, it opened.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thank you in advance.

    hi there

    very impressive guide there!

ok, fisrtly try this go back to that part of page (edit) and make sure you have NO! spaces just after the first image tag or after the url link!

    eg:

    [image] HTTP://wwww.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.jpg [image]

    [image]HTTP://wwww.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.jpg[image]

also press enter key to move cursor down twice to split links up? which keeps the pictures apart (or links apart basicallly)

and also do this after any writing so pictures have gaps between and you also have gaps between the writing and a picture. (like you do when starting a new paragraph etc)

    Thank you, Rotary,

Once again, you have helped me. I have found a hidden space (they did not show after first ). I greatly appreciate that. The guide is not complete yet. I just felt that after I had spent so much time looking for the places (VirtualDubMod) where to put all the required settings, I would have better make it easier for others. I hope it will help.

One more thing. I would like to save the guide under my name on the forum for others to use a quick link. Do I just give a link to the web page or there is a way to get a link to the guide itself?

I am also interested in DVD convertion to avi. So far, all I have come across, was too complicated and invlolved too many programs. At the same time I have great AVIs and would love to be able to do that. Do you do this? What would you advise?

    Hello Rotary,

It looks like mageshack.com is not available anymore for free image storing. All my images from an AfterDawn forum are not viewable anymore.
    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/44/82733

Do you know any other site or what happened?
