Hi, I have been burning iso files for months without a single problem. The suddenly today I cudnt burn, and I wasted 7 DVD-R disks with some error. This is what it says in DVD Decrypter: Anyone got clue what might be wrong??
Im not sure about ID code. I have been burning with this disk for like months without any problems exept today.
@nibraz What brand of discs are your using? To find the manufacturer id just put a blank one in decrypter and on the right hand side it will give the discs info.
Here is the info that it shows: PHILIPS PBDV1640P B3.4 (ATA) Current Profile: DVD-R Disc Information: Status: Empty Erasable: No Free Sectors: 2,298,496 Free Space: 4,707,319,808 bytes Free Time: 510:48:46 (MM:SS:FF) Supported Write Speeds: 2.4x, 4x, 8x Pre-recorded Information: Manufacturer ID: UME01 Physical Format Information (Last Recorded): Book Type: DVD-R Part Version: 5 Disc Size: 120mm Maximum Read Rate: Not Specified Number of Layers: 1 Track Path: Parallel Track Path (PTP) Linear Density: 0.267 um/bit Track Density: 0.74 um/track First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608 Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 0 Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 0
Try updating your firmware 1st - your 2 versions behind. Here's a link: http://cdrinfo.com/Sections/Firmware/SingleModel.aspx?DriveId=1008 Next the media your using as rotary said is probably causing your problem. UME01 is not 'A' list stuff. Instore look for Verbatim or Made in Japan Fuji or Sony.
I have updated to the latest firmware now. Now I gotta another problem I tryed to eject the dvd+/- tray and it didnt open. Tryed it like 30x and finally opend then I put a sony dvd-rw disk and tryed to burn then got this: It says media not present :?
I upgraded my driver since then this problem happens. My dvd-rw drive model is pbdv1640b and the driver i installed yesterday is pbdv1640p could this be the problem?
@nibraz Decrypter shows your drive as P but this firmware is also for B. Look in decrypter and check if the firmware took - after your drive name is should now say B3.6. Did you follow the directions that came with the download? Have you rebooted?
Did the firmware take? The firmware shouldn't have affected the ejecting - I've had that problem with crappy media.
Did you install the correct fw? Try uninstalling your drive from the device mgr and let Windows redetect it. I will try and think if there is anything else that might be causing this.
Hi arniebear, yes I did that uninstalled then windows installed it again, but.. that didnt work either. 1 week ago my writer burned fine then now it doesnt even eject the disk tray. Hope you can help me.
Well at this point you can try and reflash to your old fw and see if this corrects the problem. Go back to the site binkie gave you and dl the B3.4 and see if it will go back, maybe this will correct it.
