I didn't see any 7.0.5.5 at the Nero website. I wonder how/where did you get the info?

I don't see it on their website yet, either. The "new version coming soon" page is still there on the download trial page, and the update page still only has 7.0.5.4.

I, too, am eager to see if this new version eliminates the many problems I've hard people are having with Nero 7. I've been holding off installing it so far, sticking with 6.6.

So far, at this moment, their best versions ever are 7.7.0.14 or 7.7.0.14B (for Nero 7) and 6.6.0.18 (for Nero 6). However, very few are lucky with 7.0.5.4.

only place i saw it mentioned was a file forum site. and when i clicked to download i got an error page. my guess is they screwed up the version number and it should be .54

did a little more searching and found that this version is only an upgrade for nvidia users who have a 6 or 7 series card and a forceware driver of 84.something. it only upgrades nero showtime from what ive read. something about high definition.

here is a link to it http://www.nero.com/enu/NVidia.php

xeenox have you tried the link. thats the same page i was referring to in my last post. just gos to eror page for me.

I'm not quite sure if I want to try or not. Nero has failed tons of times (versions) terribly in the past. Now it seems like Nero 6 is going down south as well. Supposedly Nero 6 Ultra 6.6.0.18 should be (is) their best version ever made. That's what I had before going with Nero 7 and I've never had any issues/glitches whatsoever in regards to burning, converting/transcoding, watching movie, etc. (i.e. Nero Recode, Nero Vision, Nero ShowTime, Nero Express, Nero Burning Rom).

With that being said, I don't know if Ahead completely fixed all of their bugs on 7.0.5.5 or not. The question(s) still remains unanswered? Isn't it ironic that Ahead just released a 7.0.5.4B a few weeks ago only? In prior to that was 7.0.5.4, which came out with tons of bugs. The last time I heard that 7.0.5.4B were supposed to fix those bugs in 7.0.5.4, yet it still is a pain afterall.

So if anyone got 7.0.5.5 to work and have tried every applications like Nero Recode/Nero Digital, Nero Vision, Nero Express, Nero Burning Rom, Nero ShowTime, Nero CD-DVD Speed, etc., can he/she confirmed that 7.0.5.5. is free of bugs? Otherwise, I'm cool as of now.

I dont update Nero very often.
    Too many versions are buggy,
    I dont like beta testing.
If it ain't broke dont fix it.

    Just my two cents......peace

7.7.0.14b user here, it works great, will not update unless it gives me problems. by the way, in my opinion, recode 6 or 7 is the best trasncoder there is.

I have a GeForce 6600GT card, and I have the latest forceware drivers. 84.12 is a beta driver, I may try this out, but I hope Showtime doesn't mess up, then it is going to be hard to tell if it is Nero's new update or the Beta put out by Nvidia (though I've never had problems with Nvidia beta before)

Started with Nero 7.0.1.2. Have had animation menu problems with Vision on subsequent updates, and always had to revert back to Nero 7.0.1.2. I am giving this new update a chance. Installed without problem. Upon reboot, started Nero SmartStart, then Nero Vision. Received message failure to initialize disc recording subsystem. Again, rolled back to Nero 7.0.1.2.

just to see how version 7.7.0.14b is working, i have backed up two movies today(3/7). i did whole disc and main movie-only, this version seems to be a good one, no bugs so, it is a keeper. i use costum installer and only installed recode, 43.7 MB, small folder.
oh, yes. the movies were."DERAILED" and " LIE WITH ME". As usual, recode did a great job, the best transcoder there is.
p:s: if nero were to improve recode's authoring capabilities(clonedvd2 is the best at this), it would be a perfect transcoder.

I have no problems/issues with 7.0.5.5 whatsoever, everything worked 100% for me i.e. Nero Recode 2, Nero Express, Nero Burning Rom, Nero Vision 4, Nero ShowTime, Nero CD-DVD Speed, etc. That's what I mainly use it anyways.
