Crackdown on Sigs.

Hey fellas. Sigs have been getting way out of hand so I'm giving fair notice that I'm going to be sending pm's to any and all whose sigs are beyond the guidelines no matter the rank (so don't anyone cry favoritism). Large sigs are a big pet peeve of mine and many others here so there's some work to be done catching up from my recent absence.
Ours is a tech forum not an art gallery so let's have some courtesy for those who'd like to actually read threads without having to wade through a wall of pictures to find text. We now have our personal page thingy where you can post all the pictures you want so I'm not going to stand for any ridiculous whining about me curtailing expression as I've heard in the past.
Nothing personal folks - just making our forums more enjoyable for all.
Here's a recap of the rules for those who see this and would like to save me some trouble:
Quote: Signatures
These rules exist to make viewing the forum as pleasant as possible to all users. Even though you might think signatures with large pictures look cool, some might find them extremely annoying.
1. Text-only signatures should have at most 5 lines of text.
2. An image-only signature should be less than 50kb in size, and be at most 500 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall.
3. If you use an animated picture in the signature, it should not be too distractive. Eg. blinking images or images with quick movement are not allowed.
4. If you want to use both text and image in your signature the image should not be more than 500 pixels wide and 100 pixels tall, and you can use up to three lines of text.
5. All the abovementioned rules for forum posts apply also to the signatures.
Violation of these rules does not lead to an immediate ban. However if requested user must edit his or her signature to fit these guidelines.
These rules are far more generous than I'd care for so don't expect any flexibility from me :)
My killer sig came courtesy of bb "El Jefe" mayo.

nice one Neph, i've been on this for a while, some ppl unsurprisingly take the mickey and i've been lurking on userbars threads and pouncing where necessary; more importantly i've been advising ppl to conform as i knew the userbars craze would tip the sigs over the edge

Nice to see the crackdown happening :) Some of them take up whole pages if i remember correctly :) Guys im wondering is there any program that can shrink the sigs soo that they can meet the requied sizes.
Which I don't know if my signiture is ok or does it have to be shrunk??

Nice call neph, this crackdown isn't before time. The userbars are getting a little blinky in some cases and make my eyes sore!

@ Borhan- Mihov image resizer is a great tool that resizes without distortion. I may even write a mini tut on it if need be..

Ireland,If that were the case and I wish it were, mine would have been within specs. Unfortunately I was one of the people on the "hit list."
I personally did not think it was any where near as big as some members,nevertheless...I have conformed,I think!

I too agree that it has gotten out of hand, some sigs. bigger and more annoying than the ads,but will other "offenders" be so quick to respond? I have not seen many if any changes yet.

The biggest offence I've noticed is too many lines of text with a gif - three lines max and I totally agree with your idea of sig size ireland.

Aww hell no, creaky's an alright feller and I couldn't even if I wanted to. Plus he has a boat so if I ever visit the UK I'll have a floating shag wagon he'll let me borrow - isn't that right creaky? ;P
You guys know what's funny is one of the guys I pm'd about his sig pointed out that mine was out of spec - I had four lines of text. Can we say hypocrite?
