I used decrypter to read the disc and then I used shrink to compress the file into an ISO and I usually write with decrypter but my decrypter now stops at 59 percent even the ones I have been successful with in the past but for some reason it is messing up I have nero 6.6 so I was wondering how I could burn the file from shrink to a dvd none of the movies are sony productions just others like I said that have been successful with in the past. Please let me know what I can do or other programs I can burn with! Thanks

    Hi cjw31280
Which version of Nero do you have? In smart start look in the bottom right hand corner for an icon w/ a flame in it. Click on that ans post back the version # - like 6.6.0.18.

What brand of discs are you using?

Did you happen to save a log from decrypter?

    Hello.

There should be an option in the Output Target menu after clicking the Backup! button in Shrink to select burning with Nero if the option is enabled in Shrink. Not all versions will work. The latest version will not.

Edit > Preferences... > File I/O tab > check "Enable burning with Nero.

Otherwise output a folder of video files or ISO image file and burn with Nero. If you output an ISO file you can also use either DVD Decrypter or ImgBurn to burn the ISO to a disk.

The fact that DVD Decrypter isn't working suggests something else is wrong however. Is DVD Decrypter stopping while reading or burning? If the latter, it could be the media, the burner firmware, the speed of burning.

What brand of media are you using?
At what speed are you burning?
Have you checked for firmware updates?
What brand and model of burner do you have?

If DVD Decrypter is choking while reading, the problem is probably either copy protection or defects/errors in the disk being read.

    Edit: typos

    nero 6.6
    burner is LG dual layer
Decrypter is messing on the burning process everytime at 59% even on dvds that I have done in the past with NO PROBLEMS whatsoever
I just click on burn with MAX speed because it has always been that way!

The fact that is stops at 59% on every dvd puzzles me it says something about not obtaining certain sectors

    Hello.

If your media is of questionable quality, you'll almost always get failed burns at max speed. Burn spped should be limited to no more than half the rated speed of the media and even less depending on the burner and media. You didn't post back the media you're using. Also we need to know exactly what model LG burner you have. There are many different models. In DVD Decrypter in ISO Write mode with a disk in the drive, the exact name of the burner and the firmware version are on the top line of the righthand column. Post that line back here. Also post back the line that says Disk ID: in that same column.

    @cjw31280
Try the lower burn speed as laddyboy suggested. The other info will def help too.
If you try a lower burn speed when open dvd decrypter this time save the log and post it back in thread. Go to view and click 'log' derypter will generate a log. This will give us some info too.

If you are having burn failures w/ DVD decrypter more than likely you will have them w/ Nero too.

he there matey i hope the other guys in here dont mind me posting my opinion on this one.

I'd like to point in the direction of this thread

    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/369530

that is someone who had trouble burning an .iso they made with shrink

i shall say exactly what i said in that thread:

righty oh then matey i think i can help point you in the right direction =]

    http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/how_to_copy_dvd_movie_wit...

what you wnt to do is follow that guide but i below i have basically exaplined it in simpler terms and skippd the compression etc etc basically i have not included all the stuff that you dont rly need to do if you just simply want to back it up with no hassle or compression etc.

You will find that you simply insert your disc then click on open disc button at the top then slect the deive its in. Then it will read it let that finsh should take around 1 - 2 minutes or something. then you want to click the backup button at the top then make sure that the "backup target" is "hard disk folder"

then in the box below make sure that you are saving it to the folder where you want it to. then make sure that the box is ticked next to the option that says "create video_ts and audio_ts subfolders.

Now you're set to go it would take roughly 40 mins usualy to back up a full disc with menus etc. then once done it will say backup complete then go to your folder wher you have saved it to then open youre burning program (i use Nero) so i select burn dvd video files then it opens up with an empty audio_ts and video_ts folders. you then double click the video_ts folder so it opens - it will be empty. then u right click and select add files. you browse to the folder wher shrink backed it up to and open the video_ts folder and click and drag so that all of the files within that video_ts folder are highlighted gray then select add files then you'r ready to burn

hope this helps you out mate =] any questions or anything im here to help

    chris
