I know someone who put 6-7 DivX DVD rips onto a DVD and they apparently take too long to load. 1. is this normal 2. are there any other formats that are still fairly small but dont take as long to load. - Not 100% sure which forum to put this in but this one seemed the best.
DivX AVIs don't really take 'too' long to load - it's subjective and based probably mostly on system hardware. 6-7 DivX AVIs on a DVD, under my WinXP Pro, will autoload into WMP. They will form 1 playlist, and begin to play. But first, Windows has to parse each file and determine the size/time/length and format of each individual AVI. There are 6 or 7 of them and they are big files! So to answer your questions 1. Yes 2. No The best thing to speed up your access would be to turn off automatic play (tell Windows to remember to take no action) when disk inserted. Then browse the DVD in explorer or whatever, and play the one movie you want to see. Loading up all 6-7 is what takes too long. Regards
