you need the mpeg2 plugin for nero to burn in svcd mode.

Below is an (large) extract from the Nero helptool, regarding the 'invalid field in parameter list' error. Co-existance with Adaptec's apps seem to be a popular cause, but see if you can find the solution that fits your system:

"invalid field in the parameter list"

    * Adaptec Easy CD / DirectCD is installed or its driver is still there.

    To solve the problem, see:

o Interaction between Nero and other CD burner programs
    and
o drivers of other CD burner programs

    * Recorder specific error messages:

o If you have a Yamaha CD Writer and are trying to overburn, then you should make sure that you are using the newest Firmware .

o If you have a HP 7100 / Philips CDD3610 or a compatible device, then you should deactivate reading raw data in the mode 2/XA (in the register card read option, there in mode 2 data the field if possible read raw data)

o If you have a Panasonic 7502 or Matsushita 7502 or a Plasmon CDR480, then you should update to at least Nero 4.0.

o If you have a HP 8100, HP8110 or Sony CRX100, Sony CRX110 (or a HP 7500, Sony ROX5004), then this error message will appear if you try to burn a CD in the Format data-audio-data. The burner can not handle burning this format.

o If you have a HP 8100, HP8110, HP8200 or Sony CRX100, Sony CRX110, Sony CRX120 (or a HP 7500, Sony ROX5004), then the error message appears if you try to copy a CD on which the pause before the first track is more than 3s long. This is for example the case with all CDS which have a bonustrack before the first track . To find out if the CD to be copied is this kind of CD can be seen in CD-recorder->CD-Info. The start time of the first track is shown there.

o If you have a JVC XR-W4080, JVC XR-W4082, Creative CD-RW RW4224E, Hi-Val H4242, Memorex CDRW4224, RWD RW4224, or a Smart & Friendly CD-RW4224A and you have the overburn option activated, then the latter is the reason. You need a more up-to-date Firmware to be able to overburn. Please contact the vendor of your CD burner.

o If you have a TEAC CDR55S , then you should at least use Firmware 1.0j.

o If you have a Waitec 624 , as of Nero 4.0.3.0 you will suddenly be able to write CD-Text . This is only possible as of firmware 7.0j and not already with firmware 7.0f. This problem is solved with a future Nero version.

o If you have a Smart & Friendly 6024 , as of Nero 4.0.3.0 you will suddenly be able to write CD-Text . This is only possible as of firmware 6.0j possible and not already with firmware 6.0f. This problem is solved as of a future Nero version.

o If you have a Samsung SW206 , then you are presumably using a Nero version prior to 4.0.7.5. Unfortunately we had been given faulty information as far as this recorder is concerned so that not until 4.0.7.5 is this CD Writer supported correctly by Nero . Or please contact techsupport@ahead.de.

o Numerous burners have problems burning a CD if there is information entered in the UPC/EAN field. Please don't enter any information in this field.

o If you are using a mainboard witha VIA chip set and the harddisk is being operated in UDMA mode, then you should change this. Please set the transfer mode to PIO in the BIOS.

o If you are copying a CD then it is possible that the CD-ROM drive (some burners as well) read the media catalog number or the ISRC-information incorrectly and therefore the burner issues the error message given above. Please deactivate the option Read the Media Catalog Number/ISRC in the Read Options.

o This error message can appear if the SCSI cabling is not correct or the termination is faulty. But it could also be caused by drivers which have not been updated.

Please termination and check the SCSI cabling . And if necessary, download the newest driver for your SCSI controller and install it.
