My guess is you downloaded this file. There is no telling what you are getting when you download a video. Usually you will end up wasting your time trying to get it to work because whoever made it didn't know what they were doing. Try opening the video using Windows Media Player. If it still doesn't work, I don't know what to tell you. By the way, you don't need to install both DivX52XP2K.exe and divx_311alpha.exe. DivX 5 can open any past versions of DivX.
