DVD won't read

    I used CopyToDVD to backup some data and after finalizing the process I inserted the DVD back in to see if It worked. My DVD RW drive started to read it but nothing came up for awhile then when it finished loading, there was nothing inside. The size on the disk read 0 bytes. I tried it on a laptop and the DVD worked fine. Why is that? I just got the drive today, it's a NEC ND-2510A.

    My firmware is 2.15 and the latest is 2.16, is it necessary to update it? I'm afraid of a bad flash.

    I've spent the last 20 min looking for a changelog on 2.16 and can't find one (my bulb must be especially dim tonight) so I can't tell you if it'll help or not.

    It appears you're not the only one with this problem, I found this one posted just today. You may want to keep an eye it:

    Are you using the most current version of CopyToDVD?

    It's weird. I burned another DVD and it worked. The first on still won't read.

    Hi,

    So the new one you burned turned out fine? Strangeness abounds!

    It's possible you may have had a bum disc or just bad juju with that first burn. If it's working now I'd say roll with it.

    Post back if you hit anymore snags :)
