I've personally never had problems with the media I've used so far for music CD's. Kodak, Taiyo Yuden, CMC Magnetics, Ritek. The typical brands made from these companies are TDK, Fuji, Maxell, HP, Imation, etc... but it can vary. I don't know about longevity of the cheaper media though.
