I have an older HP burner that always burns 80 minute cd-rs with problems, like songs cutting off prematurely etc. BUT, when I've copied from another cdrom drive to that same cd-r drive to an 80 minute cd-r, it has worked just fine. Is this good luck so far, or is there a reason why I would have trouble burning mp3s onto, but no trouble copying an 80 minute cd-r?
My old HP 7200i won't officially support media above 650mb/74min. I've only had one good 80 min burn on it. Your HP might not support 80min media either.
yeah, I know it doesnt. However, I've yet to have troubles copying one audio cd to another, and the cd-r being copied to being 80 minutes. So I'm wondering if this is a fluke, or if copying properties are somehow different from regular burning.
Sounds like it's time to get a more compatible burner. I still keep my HP 2/2/6 around for game CD's b/c it's fast enough to read the CD and it's extremely quite compared to my other burners and DVD ROM.
