Chameleon Chip Stop Working

i took my chameleon chip and after market hard drive from my working modded xbox and installed it on my friends v1.0 xbox the same as mine and the xbox boots to the regular microsoft screen. the chip flashes red for a split second. i took another chip from my other xbox which i know it works and installed it on my friends xbox and it still flashes red. What did i do wrong? I made sure the pin was making contact on the motherboard. The points are soldered on the motherboard just like it is on my xbox. We have the same versions of xbox. Please help?
