Toshiba SD1200 player wont play DVD-R.....

    This stand alone unit is suppose to play DVD-Rs. I backed up Total Recall using Verbatim media. The files are on the disc. When inserted in the Toshiba it shows DVD and tried to play but you can hear the laser clicking and trying to read. Also it wont play in the Pioneer104 either. Just shows the message 'insert a DVD movie'. Anyone have a SD1200? thanks
