ever since installing Windows 2000 Pro, and now XP , i have been struggling to burns CDs. i know i need aspi drivers and thier job is to interface between Pc and cd-writer but thats about s much as i do know i did hev it running for a while by installing some aspi drivers but it was frustrating day where i was trying anything and everything and cannot recall which drivers i installed the current config is :- OS = Windows XP(with service pack 1) writer = plextor plexwriter 8/4/32T writing software = WinOnCD 3.8 power edition after installing the latest adaptec drivers ,aspi_v472a2 on start up windows automatically disables the drivers from working as it thinks it will cause instability i would be very grateful if someone who understands all this aspi layer black magic could explain how to sort this out once and for all!!! :-((((
1) Remove existing ASPI drivers 2) Try ForceASPI http://cd-rw.org/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/frcaspi.cfm
